Description of culture system |
Agriculture lime and chicken manure (CM) were initially applied at a rate of 2 t/ha. CM was then applied trice a week at a rate of 57.6 kg/ha/mo. while inorganic fertilizer 16-20-0 was applied once a week at a rate of 12.5 kg/ha/mo. Water was maintained at about 60 cm depth. |

Description of Nutrient input |
Natural food organisms present in the pond generated from the application of organic and inorganic fertilizers. Feeds (20% crude protein) were also given 6 times a week at a rate of 6% of fish biomass. Feed composition included rice bran, ipil-ipil (@Leucaena leucocephala@) leaf meal, corn meal, fishmeal, soybean meal, vegetable oil, vitamin premix and shrimp head meal. |
