Remarks Per "Hawaii's Fishes - A Guide for Snorkelers Divers and Aquarists" (ISBN 1-56647-001-3) by John P. Hoover on page 58. The Hawaiian name refers to a group of endemic, greenish white fan-palms (Pritchardia sp.) simular in color to the fish. Lou means "to hook," and the fish was used in sorcery to cause death.
