Distribution: Africa: Occurs in the Berg River system and Verlorenvlei Rivers, southwest Cape. Probably extinct in the Eerste River, Cape Province, South Africa (Ref. 2801). Decline caused by habitat deterioration and impact of introduced predatory species (Ref. 3881). Western Black Sea basin: from Kamchiya (Bulgaria) to D├╝zdere drainages (Turkey) (Ref. 59043).
