Notas Benthopelagic. Occurs along the Charlie-Gibbs Fracture Zone, Mid-Atlantic Ridge (MAR) at depths of 1200-2800 m. Frequently encountered with other macrourids in the MAR. Serves as the final host for several deep-sea fish parasites (Ref. 128242). Feeds on small benthic invertebrates.
