Remarks Occurs in quiet, well-vegetated waters where it feeds from the surface or on small invertebrates living on plant surfaces. Requires well oxygenated waters and usually not found in small or headwater streams. Frequency of occurence in Caprivi: occasionally in sandy streams, occasionally in shallow swamps, and occasionally in shallow flood plains (Ref. 037065).
