Remarks Reef-associated species that lives in rocky reefs and nearby sand patches to depths of 200 m. Common in shallow reefs but more commonly resides on deeper reefs and seamounts (>50 m) (Ref. 121943). Commercial predatory reef fish (Ref. 108117).
