Remarks | An epibenthic fish which prefers quiet, gently flowing stretches and muddy substratum or fine sand overlain with a layer of organic debris. It occurs mostly in shallow marginal water among aquatic macrophytes and in swamp pools. Feeds primarily on benthic invetebrates and detritus. Is considered a micropredator and an "aufwuchs browser" (Ref. 42232). |
