Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Leuciscinae
Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Endemic to the Kura-Aras basin (Ref. 1441). Probably also in Sefid of Iran. Distributed in the upper and middle reaches of Kura with tributaries downstream to Mingetchiaur and of Aras downstream to Karadonly (Azerbaijan).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rivers and lakes (Ref. 1441).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 05 February 2014 Ref. (123251)
Threat to humans:  harmless
