Max. size:  20 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Europe: coastal lakes in Romania and River Danube in Romania and Bulgaria. Extinct; known only from two records in 1909 and 1943.
Diagnosis:  Can be distinguished from all congeners by having 17-20½ branched anal-fin rays and 68-70 total lateral line scales (Ref. 75106). Diagnosed from congeners in Black Sea basin by its anal fin origin about 1½ -2½ scales behind base of last dorsal ray, lateral line with 63-64 + 4 scale, and anal fin with 17-20½ branched rays (Ref. 59043).
Biology:  Inhabits main river and coastal lakes. Size reaches up to about 20 cm SL (Ref. 59043).
