Family:  Muraenidae (Moray eels), subfamily: Uropterygiinae
Max. size:  17 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 25 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Gulf of California to Colombia, including the Galapagos Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Considered one of the smallest morays in the world (Ref. 28023). Benthic on sand and between rocks.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 24 May 2007 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
