Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Zanzibar, Tanzania.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 83; Anal soft rays: 62. Distinct from Synaptura and Austroglosuus spp. by: the shape of pelvic fins, that are parallel, with long basis; insertion of first pelvic ray; different scales.
