Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 25 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Society Islands, Tahiti, and Tuamoto Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 21-23; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 17-19
Biology:  Found in lagoon reefs, usually solitary or paired. Oviparous (Ref. 205). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205).

Threat to humans:  harmless
