Distribution:  Indian Ocean: off southern Africa and from various localities in the Indian Ocean. Western Central Pacific: Australia (Ref. 2334).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 37-40; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 37-40. Body pale with 13-19 dark bars above (Ref. 5467).
