Max. size:  67 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: confined to Madagascar. Previously synonymized with Chiloscyllium plagiosum but after comparisons have been made, this species was tentatively recognized as valid. Not in Compagno's 1999 checklist (Ref. 35766).
Diagnosis:  Light brown dorsally, paler ventrally, with blue-white spots (Ref. 391).
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 50449).

Threat to humans:  harmless
