Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  3.37 cm SL (male/unsexed); 2.52 cm SL (female)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 6 - 65 m
Distribution:  Atlantic Ocean: Madeira and Canary islands. Also from Portugal, south of Lisbon (Ref. 92840).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 24-25; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-9; Vertebrae: 27-27. Anterior opercle with a dark spot on its lower edge. Anterior margin of pectoral fin base without a dark vertical band. Ctenoid scales on trunk. Sensory papillae: row 1, 5-8; row 2, 4-5; row 3, 5-7; row 4, 4-7; row 5, 3-5; row y, 1; row tr, absent (Ref. 41100).
Biology:  Inhabits small crevices in vertical rock outcrops; also collected from a tide pool (Ref. 41100). Also found from intertidal and shallow subtidal to depths up to 65 m (Ref. 92840).
