Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Pomacentrinae
Max. size:  4.85 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine; depth range 1 - 8 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: with confirmed occurrence in Indonesia (Halmahera and West Papua), NE Papua New Guinea (including New Britain, Admiralty Islands, Milne Bay Province), Solomon Is., Vanuatu, New Caledonia, and Australia (entire extent of the Great Barrier Reef).
Biology:  Found on rocky substrates, frequently close to shore and often in gullies just below the surge zone at depths of about 1-6 m. Generally solitary or in small, loose groups (Ref. 103843).
