Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 15 - 1900 m
Distribution:  North Pacific: China (Ref. 559, 33837), Japan, and Kuril Islands to Canada and California, USA.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 75-89; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 61-72. Dorsal origin above or ahead of upper eye. Caudal broadly rounded.
Biology:  Occurs on mud and sand bottoms (Ref. 9137, 11230).
