Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal soft rays: 8-8; Vertebrae: 33-34. Papillae of lips not developed; the gill rakers of the first gill arch very sparse and short; the rostral barbels and maxillary barbels not developed; length of the last simple dorsal fin ray equal to or slightly shorter than length of head; the number of scales in longitudinal series 32-35.
