Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7; dH range: 10
Distribution:  Central America: Pacific slope of Costa Rica (Térraba River) to Panama (Chiriqui River).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky and sandy stream usually with moderate to fast flowing water and between 20-400 meters elevation. Feeds upon aufwuchs and invertebrates as well as various aquatic insects.
