Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Labeoninae
Max. size:  24.7 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 119.2 g
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: widely distributed in the hill streams of the Indus drainage in Pakistan, Afghanistan and India; extending also into Iranian Seistan and into the coastal drainage of Bahut Kalat in Pakistan (Ref. 33323).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Apparently prefers lakes and main river banks, and does not ascend cold-water tributaries. Primarily a lotic species feeding from epilithic growth.
