Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Max. size:  130 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: southern Mexico to Ecuador.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit coastal waters; juveniles entering estuaries, river mouths, and shallow bays (Ref. 9118). Feed on shrimps, fishes and cephalopods (Ref. 9118).
