Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  4.99 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 2 - 6 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Gulf of California to Ecuador.
Diagnosis:  Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 10-10. This species differs from all its congeners in the eastern Pacific by having the following characters: 2 basicaudal scales; D2 typically I,11; numerous branched caudal rays 12-15; with a longitudinal dark stripe on head (Ref. 87125).
Biology:  Inhabits rocky reefs, usually found near Eucidaris thouarsi. Known as facultative cleaners (Ref. 92840).
