Family:  Epigonidae (Deepwater cardinalfishes)
Max. size:  13.1 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 270 - 670 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: seamounts in the region of the Eltanin and Khinzena Fracture zones.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9. Opercular spine present (Ref. 31632). Horizontal diameter of the eye is greater than the postorbital part of the head. Body moderately deep (22-24 percent SL) (Ref. 31632).
Biology:  A mesobenthic-pelagic species living mainly above the bottom (Ref. 31632).
