Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  1.02 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 2 - 36 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: known only from the Marquesas Islands, French Polynesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 7-8. This species is characterized by the following set of characters: sensory pore pattern group 2, with only IT pore missing; dorsal/anal ray formula 8/8; some pectoral-fin rays are branched; fifth pelvic-fin ray 1/10-2/10 length of fourth pelvic fin ray; distinct dark vertical stripe on cheek extending ventrally from middle of eye to under lower jaw; urogenital papilla not fimbriate (Ref. 94084).
Biology:  Collected on small coral bommie on sandy slope (Ref. 94084).
