Family:  Gaidropsaridae (Rocklings)
Max. size:  36 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 20 - 250 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Canary Islands and the Azores. A few specimens of this species have been caught recently from the central and eastern Mediterranean (Ref. 83500).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0
Biology:  Not commonly caught. Feeds on palaemonid prawns. Rare species.

Threat to humans:  harmless
