Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Cameroon, Uganda, Kenya, and the Congo River basin (Ref. 58532).
Diagnosis:  Eye posterior (Ref. 58532). Vent located relative far from anal fin, the vent distance 29.3-30.2% of distance between anterior end of anal and pelvic fin insertions (Ref. 58532). Predorsum, belly and chest are fully scaled (Ref. 81639).
