Max. size:  50 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: southern Hokkaido southward (except the Ryukyu Islands) to Japan, Taiwan and the East China Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky reefs in coastal areas (Ref. 9137). Juveniles associate with drifting seaweed (Ref. 12114, 12115).
