Max. size:  8.2 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Oceania: endemic to New Zealand.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits streams. Preys on invertebrates (Ref. 27776). Maximum life-span for both sexes was observed to be 4.5 years (Ref. 46231).

Threat to humans:  harmless
