Family:  Muraenidae (Moray eels), subfamily: Muraeninae
Max. size:  91 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 1,090.0 g
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 120 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Straits of Florida in USA and Gulf of Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Large, greenish brown with white ocellated spots that are small on head and anterior, becoming larger and fewer posteriorly (Ref. 26938).
Biology:  Inhabits offshore banks.
