Max. size:  14 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 10 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 11-11. Males are distinguished by the ringed cheek pattern. Females have pink bellies with fine white lines along scales across (Ref. 48636).
Biology:  Found solitary or in small groups (Ref. 90102) in coastal, very shallow and usually algae-rocky coastal reefs (Ref. 48636).
