Max. size:  50 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 680 - 2200 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: southern Spain and Portugal to Mauritania including the Azores and Canary Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on the continental slope. Feeds on copepods (Ref. 4448). Minimum depth reported taken from Ref. 4448.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 June 2013 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
