Family:  Ariidae (Sea catfishes), subfamily: Ariinae
Max. size:  50 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Asia: Thailand to Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Head wider than deep; snout pointed; palatine teeth granular (Ref. 43281).
Biology:  Occurs in medium to large-sized rivers (Ref. 12975). Feeds mainly on invertebrates and small fishes (Ref. 12693).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 29 April 2020 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  traumatogenic
