Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean and Northwest Pacific: off Sumatra and Java in the eastern Indian Ocean and in the South China Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-5; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 2-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9; Vertebrae: 34-35
Biology:  Known from five specimens (Ref. 51652). Probably benthopelagic (Ref. 51652). Feeds on shrimps (Ref. 51652).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 22 December 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
