Family:  Nettastomatidae (Duckbill eels)
Max. size:  54.2 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 55 - 310 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: western and southern Gulf of Mexico and from Colombia to mouth of the Amazon River.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 227-245. Light yellowish brown, with small brown spots dorsally; vertical fins edged in black posteriorly (Ref. 37039).
Biology:  Minimum depth reported from Ref. 37039.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 19 August 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
