Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 8.5 - 9.19999980926514; dH range: 8 - 14
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to the northwest shore of Lake Tanganyika, between Luhanga and Makabola (Democratic Republic of the Congo).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Rock-dwelling. Usually solitary, territorial. Feeds on microorganisms (Ref. 6770). Aquarium keeping: in pairs; minimum aquarium size 60 cm (Ref. 51539).
