Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Labeoninae
Max. size:  57 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Africa: within drainage basin of Nile River, including White Nile, Blue Nile, Murchison Nile, Lake Albert and Kioga, and in Lake Turkana (Ref. 1440). Not known from East Coast rivers, from Congo basin or (reliably) from West Africa (Ref. 1440).
