Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Labeoninae
Max. size:  4.95 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: middle Congo River main course, Kasai, Uélé (Ref. 26192) and Wagenia Falls (Ref. 26192, 106245) in Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-10; Vertebrae: 29-30. Body nearly rounded; lips plicate; snout rounded, convex, without transverse furrow nor fleshy appendix at the end; eyes in lateral position; genital orifice far from origin of anal fin; two large pairs of barbels; one lateral dark brown band on each flank (Ref. 26192).
