Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Torinae
Max. size:  40 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Pangani, Athi-Tana and Nero-Narok Rivers systems, Lorian swamps in the northern Euasso Nyiro River system.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rivers. Juvenile mouths very variable and may develop rubber lips (Ref. 4967).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 31 January 2006 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
