Distribution:  Africa: Lukuga River, from near Kalemie (Ref. 45485, 89080) down to the Kisimba-Kilia rapids (Ref. 93587), Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-6. Diagnosis: Labeobarbus pojeri differs from L. caudovittatus in absence of dark bands on the caudal fin and in the well ossified last unbranched dorsal-fin ray (Ref. 93587). Description: snout wide and rounded, its length 3 times in head length (Ref. 89080). Eye-diameter 4 to 4.25 times in head length (Ref. 89080). Mouth subinferior; lower lip with or without small median lobe; upper lip slightly thickened (Ref. 89080). Two pairs of barbels (Ref. 89080). Dorsal fin with 3 unbranched and 9-10 branched rays, midway between eye and caudal fin, its upper margin concave; last unbranched ray well ossified and segmented distally (Ref. 89080, 93587). Anal fin with 3 unbranched and 5-6 branched rays, not reaching caudal fin (Ref. 89080). Pectoral fin not reaching pelvic fin; pelvic-fin base below middle of dorsal fin base (Ref. 89080). Scales longitudinally striated; 26-27 lateral line scales; 2-2.5 scales between lateral line and pelvic fin; 12 circumpeduncular scales (Ref. 45485, 89080). Colouration: body brown-olive dorsally, yellowish ventrally; with scales slightly brownish at their base (Ref. 89080). All fins transparent or slightly greyish; yellowish on belly, at base of pectoral and pelvic fins, and base of caudal fin (Ref. 45485, 89080). No dark bands on caudal fin (Ref. 45485, 89080, 93587).
