Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
Max. size:  18 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 2 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: endemic to the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. Reported as likely at Seychelles (Ref. 1623) but Randall and van Egmond 1994 (Ref. 10685) believe otherwise.

Biology:  Remains hidden by day (Ref. 9710).
