Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 30 - 400 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: northern Mauritania to Angola.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Stays in relatively deep water; very abundant on the continental plateau (Ref. 5377). Found over sand and mud bottoms (Ref. 26999).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 20 May 2013 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
