Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Apalachicola River drainage in Georgia, Alabama and Florida, USA; adjacent tributaries of Savannah, Altamaha, and Coosa rivers in Georgia, and Tallapoosa River in Georgia and Alabama, USA. Possibly introduced into Hiwassee River system in Georgia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky pools near riffles in clear creeks and small rivers (Ref. 86798). Oviparous (Ref. 205), probably nest spawners like congeners.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 March 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
