Family:  Synaphobranchidae (Cutthroat eels), subfamily: Ilyophinae
Max. size:  73 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 100 - 329 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Reunion, Mauritius, southern Japan, Hancock Seamount, and the Hawaiian and Society islands. Off Southern Brazil (Ref. 57911).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  On the continental slope (Ref. 57991).
