Family:  Melanotaeniidae (Rainbowfishes, blue eyes)
Max. size:  7.5 cm SL (male/unsexed); 6.5 cm SL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: known only from Waigeo (large island 65 km northwest of Irian Jaya, Indonesia).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-13; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 19-21
Biology:  Inhabits streams.
