Distribution:  Africa: lower and middle Congo River basin up to Wagenia Falls, in Democratic Republic of the Congo and Angola; absent from the northern tributaries (Ref. 42505). Report from the Chiloango basin (Ref. 42505) needs confirmation (Ref. 81635).
