Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  11.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: disjunct: Cumberland and Tennessee River drainages in Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama, USA; Little, St. Francis and White River drainages in Missouri and Arkansas, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rocky runs and flowing pools, often near riffles, of clear creeks and small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723, 10294). Feeds on terrestrial and surface insects, and immature benthic insects (Ref. 10294).
