| Diagnosis: | Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: presence of body pigmentation; lateral line incomplete, with 6-8 pores; dorsal-fin rays, iii-6; pectoral-fin rays, i-8-9; pelvic-fin rays, i-6; 13 branched caudal-fin rays; caudal fin rounded, without irregular black markings; absence of black longitudinal stripe from posterior upper pectoral fin to the base of caudal fin; tip of pelvic fin reaching the anus; anterior nostril tube short, with an elongated long barbel-like tip; tip of maxillary barbel not reaching the posterior margin of the gill cover; and posterior chamber of the air bladder well developed (Ref. 137455). | |||
