Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: cheeks scaled; branched pectoral fin rays 11-13; preoperculomandibular canal pores 7-9; preanus length 67.4%-74.3% of SL; snout length 21.4%-28.7% of lateral head length; supraorbital canal pores at base of anterior nostrils 11-15 (Ref. 137458).
