Family:  Peristediidae (Armored searobins or armored gurnards)
Max. size:  19 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 120 - 500 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: southern Japan, the East China Sea, and the Yellow Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found along the shelf edge.
