Environment:  demersal; freshwater; depth range 0 - 1 m
Distribution:  Asia: Myanmar.
Diagnosis:  This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: branched dorsal-fin rays 81/2 branched rays; branched pectoral-fin rays 8-9; no suborbital flap nor suborbital groove; with axillary pelvic lobe; caudal-fin forked, with 9 + 8 branched rays; lateral line complete, 93-102 pores; long elliptical posterior chamber of air bladder is well developed, connecting anterior with a long and thin tube (Ref. 132517).
Biology:  Collected from its type locality, where water flow is slow with a depth about 20-70 cm and the bottom is usually muddy. Associated species found include Danio albolineatus, Devario sp., Pethia stoliczkana, Lepidocephalichthys berdmorei, Schistura sp., Xiphophorus helleriii (exotic), and Channa gachua (Ref. 132517).
